Northwest Antique Aircraft Fly-in
In 1946, Wally Olson established Evergreen Field east of downtown Vancouver, Washington for his fixed base operation until his death in 1997. It was at Evergreen Field that the Northwest Antique Aircraft Club found a home in 1964 for hosting the annual Northwest Antique Aircraft Fly-in each summer to showcase classic antique aircraft from around the country. Evergreen Field closed in 2006, and the NWAAC moved to a new home in McMinville, Oregon to host their annual airshow.

Following is a sampling of images captured by Gildemeister in 1989 and 1990
while researching stories of early-day flying for his book Avian Dreamers which he published in 1991 through The Bear Wallow Publishing Company as a special tribute to the early-day men and women who pioneered the skies.
